Fleet Manager – Cruise Location: Hamburg, Germany
I am working with a leading maritime organisation to identify an experienced Fleet Manager to join their shore-based team in Central Europe.
This is a senior technical leadership role, responsible for supporting the technical performance of the fleet while leading and developing a team of Technical Superintendents.
The Role:
- Lead and develop a team of Technical Superintendents and wider technical colleagues.
- Provide guidance and support on complex technical and operational issues.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, senior management and other departments.
- Support the team with troubleshooting, reporting and challenging vessel matters.
- Oversee vessel performance, maintenance, compliance and technical standards.
- Support dry dockings, refits, repairs and technical projects.
- Drive effective communication and collaboration between the vessels and shore-based teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the fleet and technical function.
About You:
- Strong shore-based experience within the cruise or wider passenger vessel sector.
- Previous experience as a Fleet Manager, Senior Technical Superintendent, Technical Manager or similar.
- Strong technical knowledge of vessel operations and maintenance.
- Proven experience leading and developing technical teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident dealing with clients, senior management and wider departments.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- A collaborative, approachable leadership style.
A Chief Engineer background would be highly relevant, particularly alongside strong shore-based leadership experience.
Location: Central Europe.
