Job Description

Vessel Details:

• A 75m+ new-build Lürssen motor yacht is looking for an experienced Bosun to join its deck department from the 1st of November!

• Currently undertaking a world-cruising programme, the yacht offers an interesting and varied operational environment, with opportunities to develop both practical deck skills and bridge experience.

• The position operates on a 3:1 rotation, with a competitive salary, flights covered and an annual training allowance following probation.

Position Overview:

• The Bosun will take an active role in the daily organisation and supervision of the deck department, working closely with the senior officers to maintain high standards onboard.

• The position is approximately 80% deck-based and 20% administrative, with responsibilities including deck maintenance, painting, team coordination and assisting with the planning and execution of daily operations.

• The Bosun will also be expected to relieve the Third Officer when required, making an OOW qualification essential for this position.

• The yacht is specifically looking for someone with a genuine interest in fishing, diving and water-sports, alongside the leadership skills to guide junior deck crew and contribute positively to the wider team.

Requirements:

• You must hold a valid OOW 3000 ticket in hand for this role.

• Previous experience in a Bosun or suitably senior deck position is preferred, with strong practical knowledge of deck maintenance, painting and general yacht operations.

• Good leadership skills are essential, alongside the ability to organise work, supervise junior crew and communicate effectively with the senior officers.

• Additional experience or qualifications in fishing, diving or water-sports would be advantageous.

• Non-smokers only. Visible tattoos will be considered at the Captain’s discretion.

• Salary: Competitive and DOE.

• Rotation: 3 months on/1 month off.

• Annual training allowance of up to $2,000, available following probation.

• Start date: 1st of November.
