Role & Responsibilities
Our sister company Personal Staffing Ltd are looking for a Household Assistant for a warm, private family in San Francisco. This will be to support their House Manager across two beautiful properties. The principals are kind and generous, and many of their staff have been with them for years. That loyalty says a lot about the household.
No two days in this role are the same. One focus will be the family's gifting programme: finding thoughtful, unusual gifts for family, friends, colleagues and staff throughout the year. It's a lovely project and one you can make your own. You'll also help organise formal dinners and large gatherings, work with the florist to keep both homes full of flowers, and act as a trusted right hand to the House Manager. This suits someone with a polished service background, ideally from yachting, who likes variety and takes pride in getting the details right.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the family's gifting programme: sourcing, buying, wrapping and delivering personal gifts for family, friends, colleagues and staff, and keeping track of key dates and preferences
- Provide polished service when the family entertains, from intimate formal dinners to larger parties
- Work with the florist to keep fresh arrangements throughout both properties
- Run errands across the city with care and good judgement
- Help the House Manager coordinate staff schedules for a small team of housekeepers, groundskeepers and other household staff
- Step in for the House Manager during their leave or time away, keeping both homes running smoothly
- Take on whatever the household needs on a given day, with a positive, can-do attitude
- Maintain high standards
Package
- Start date: Flexible / TBC
- Schedule: Live-out position
- Salary: $150,000 USD per annum
- Annual leave: 1 month
Ideal Candidate Criteria
- 5–7 years' experience in high-end service, from a private household, superyacht or luxury hospitality
- Yachting experience strongly preferred
- Highly organised, detail-focused and diligent, with an eye for beautiful presentation
- Creative and resourceful, and enjoys finding the unique and personal
- Confident with formal service and at ease with entertaining at every scale
- Flexible and happy to take on a wide variety of tasks
- Discreet, well presented and professional
- A full, valid driving licence and confidence driving in San Francisco
- Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder
- Relocation support may be available for the right candidate, but relocating is ultimately the candidate's responsibility
