We are looking for a Deck Carpenter for a 70m+ Private and Charter Motor Yacht

The yacht has just finished a busy Mediterranean season and will be heading into the yard for a survey period

The owners have made extensive use of the yacht this year, with occasional charter throughout the season,

The yacht operates with a long standing crew and has a strong, friendly onboard culture with excellent morale.

Role

The yacht is seeking a practical, hands-on Deck Carpenter with ideal backgrounds coming from shipwright work, land based carpentry or boat building.

Previous yachting experience is not essential, and junior candidates will be considered. The successful candidate should be confident with practical maintenance, general deck duties and supporting the wider deck operation.

Ideal Candidate

• Background in carpentry, shipwright work, cabinet making or boat building.

• Previous yachting experience is advantageous but not essential.

• Strong practical skills and a hands-on approach to deck maintenance.

• Confident with general deck duties and supporting day-to-day operations.

• Tender driving experience is advantageous.

• Heli Ops experience is a bonus.

• Professional presentation and a good understanding of working within a traditional owner environment.

• No visible tattoos preferred.

• PDSD.

• Powerboat Level 2.

• PWC licence desirable.

Package

• Salary: US$4,250 per month DOE

• Leave: 60 days.

• Flights: Two flights per rotation.

• Training: Training budget available after longevity on board

• Tips: Shared gratuities.

• Facilities: Extensive crew gym, available for use at any time.

Interesting FactsI’ve always had a strong sporting background, competing in athletics for 12 years and becoming Welsh 5K Road Champion along the way. Through 7s, I had the opportunity to play for some fantastic teams, including Bath Ladies, as well as compete at the Dubai 7s — an incredible experience that combined my love of sport with my passion for travel and new experiences.

Where you’ll find me at the weekend?

At the weekend, you’ll usually find me making the most of the outdoors — discovering quirky coffee shops, exploring new forest trails, or heading to the beach with my partner and our rescue dogs. There’s usually a well-earned pub stop along the way! I’m also a keen runner and love exploring the South Coast on foot, taking in the views as I go. When the weather is on our side, I’ll be out paddleboarding and making the most of every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
