The candidate specification
This is not your typical white boat. Our client runs one of the biggest operations in the yachting industry, with an exciting world-cruising programme that will see the yacht joining in the Pacific before heading to the Caribbean, Mexico and the Galapagos. What really sets this yacht apart is the crew. They're a close-knit, sociable and caring team with no room for drama, who work hard, have a laugh together and make life on board as fun as possible. The result is a lovely culture where everyone genuinely enjoys what they do.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety, ideal for someone eager to learn and grow. You'll be involved in large-scale deck operations, including cranes and tender ops, as well as tender runs and water sports. Maintenance is carried out in-house with no contractors, so expect to get stuck into grinding, varnishing, painting and greasing cranes. The whole team pitches in, and even the chief officer regularly works on deck. It's busy and physically demanding, so good stamina is essential, but it's a fantastic boat to learn on and gain experience across a wide range of operations.
We're looking for someone with a minimum of one year's experience on yachts of 50m and above. Above all, you'll have a positive, bubbly and outgoing personality and a knack for seeing the light side of things. A strong work ethic, a real hunger to work and the tenacity to get your hands dirty are key, as is being a team player who will thrive in a close, drama-free crew.
In return, you'll enjoy a 3:1 rotation, two bonuses a year and a training allowance after one year on board, along with the chance to see the world as part of a supportive and fun-loving crew. Please get in touch to discuss.
- Required experience: 1 year of yachting experience
- Qualification: STCW & ENG1
- Due to cabin arrangements: Male or Female
- Required Visa: B1/B2 (bonus) and Schengen Visa
