Position Snapshot

• Salary: $140,000–$150,000 AUD per year TRP

• Location: Sydney, year-round

• Start: Within one month

• Employment: Full-time, with Monday–Friday, reduced hours when guests are not onboard

An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced Head Chef to join a 38m private superyacht operated by one of Australia’s most prominent families.

With the owners now residing overseas, the yacht is used only a handful of times each year during their visits to Sydney. The role offers a refreshing alternative to traditional yacht life, combining high culinary standards with a predictable, Sydney-based lifestyle.

During quieter periods, the chef will primarily prepare meals for the longstanding crew of 7

When the owners and guests are onboard (maximum 6), expectations are elevated, with no expense spared on premium produce and exceptional dining experiences. Guest trips are generally scheduled months in advance, meaning minimal standby requirements and greater opportunity to plan personal time.

This role would suit a superyacht chef seeking a long-term, land-based position without stepping away from the standards and variety of private yacht service.

Potential yard period scheduled for the Gold Coast in April 2027

First summer guest trip scheduled for after Xmas giving the head chef plenty of time to settle into the position

The Ideal Candidate

• Professionally trained with strong culinary foundations

• Previous superyacht chef experience or a comparable background in a private residence or high-end restaurants

• A versatile culinary repertoire, comfortable catering for both crew and VIP guests

• Professional, organised and self-motivated

• Able to work collaboratively with an established, longstanding crew

• Able to secure their own accommodation ashore in Sydney

• Holds Australian work rights

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 AUD per year TRP + Discretional annual bonus
