Position Snapshot

The Opportunity

MYS is seeking experienced yacht captains to support a growing fleet of private day yachts based in Perth over the summer season.

Working alongside an established fleet captain and a small management team, you will oversee guest operations across a diverse fleet, ensuring safe, professional and enjoyable experiences. The vessels are primarily used for private day excursions, with activity increasing over summer and fewer trips during winter.

The role includes overseeing crew, including deckhands, stewardesses and chefs, coordinating vessel operations, and managing technical requirements, maintenance and yard periods.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced superyacht captain looking to transition to a land-based lifestyle, with their own accommodation in Perth. Candidates returning from international positions or considering relocation are encouraged to apply.

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven superyacht captain experience

• Master 5 or Master 200 GT qualification (minimum)

• AMSA or MCA qualifications

• Strong crew leadership and management skills

• Experience operating a diverse range of vessels

• Sound technical knowledge and maintenance oversight experience

• Professional, approachable and confident with guests

• Australian working rights

• Seeking a Perth-based, shore-based lifestyle

Contract: 6–8 months, with casual shift arrangements also considered

Salary: Excellent package, competitive day rates and overnight allowances
