Job description

A prestigious 80-metre privately operated superyacht, beginning a new chapter under new ownership, is seeking an experienced Captain in Monaco to take full command of the vessel and lead the building of her crew.

Based in the Mediterranean with a private cruising programme, this is a rare opportunity to shape the standards and culture of a vessel of this calibre from day one. Even-time rotation planned.

Responsibilities

• Overall command, navigation and safe operation of the vessel in full compliance with flag state, ISM/ISPS and MLC requirements

• Leadership and management of the full crew across deck, engineering, interior and galley departments

• Ownership of the safety management system, drills, certification and audits

• Voyage planning, port and agent liaison, and itinerary management to the Owner's programme

• Budget management, accounts and reporting to the Owner's office

• Oversight of maintenance programmes, shipyard periods and refits

• Recruitment input and development of the crew structure as the programme evolves

• Discreet, polished delivery of the on-board experience for the Owner and guests

Requirements

• Master 3000GT CoC (or higher), valid and in date

• Significant command experience on motor yachts of comparable size (60m+)

• Valid STCW certification and ENG1 medical

• Proven leader of large crews, with strong owner-management skills

• Experienced in new builds, refits or crew start-ups — an asset

• Impeccable references and absolute discretion

• Location: Mediterranean

Salary

€16,000–23,000 gross per month, depending on experience
